For this second CHALLENGE we have selected a video dealing with the utmost importance of learning English in emerging countries. If you want to try your hand, in short we shall also upload the answers.

1.- Why is the demand of learning English so high nowadays in Bangladesh?

6.- Which is the aim in teaming up with big mobile phones companies?

7.- How much does a 3 minutes lesson cost?

8.- How do learners check their progress?

9.- The age range the project is aimed at is:

10.- Which is the percentage of women learners and how would you value these numbers in the context of the Bangladeshi society?

11.- Briefly resume the two examples of women following the project.

12.- What percentage of frequent users is happy with their progress? How many use English at work?

13.- How does the project work with NGOs?

14.- What was exactly the importance of the project in the summer of 2012?

KEY ANSWERS.

  1. It is an emerging nation in an increasingly global world.
  2. It is perceived as a difficult language to learn.
  3. Taking learning out of the classrooms through multimedia.

  14. They set up 1000 English speaking clubs to create more interaction among the learners.
